The Wells Cornwall Lost

The Cornwall Democratic Committee has been digging through decades of Town Board minutes, local reporting and environmental records to examine a major unfinished matter from Helen Bunt’s time as town supervisor—and what her record tells us about leadership, follow-through and accountability.

In 1999, Cornwall unanimously voted to pursue a potentially significant water system in Mountainville. Helen Bunt voted yes. Months later, under her administration, the town attorney said the acquisition was moving forward.

Cornwall never secured it.
